We are so thankful to Steph, from the bottom of our hearts, for guiding our journey through childbirth. Her confidence and demeanor was contagious and we are proud of the informed decisions we made because of her knowledge and influence. We are forever grateful for her and her services!

Steph was my doula before she was a doula!  I called her at the very last minute and told her I wanted her there.  I knew she was a natural doula and she did such a great job, just running off her intuition.  Steph has this knack for staying calm during stressful moments.  When things got intense, I just remember her smiling and encouraging me.  Her faith in my ability to give birth is what pushed me through a difficult birth.  Unfortunately, our son ended up with minor complications and was transferred to the NICU at a different hospital.  My husband went with the baby so he wasn’t alone.  Steph came back to the hospital, with food and drinks, and stayed with me during the rest of my recovery so I wouldn’t be alone.  When I was discharged, she drove me to the hospital our baby was at (in another city!).  None of this was expected, it was all above and beyond, yet so appreciated.  It really goes to show her level of commitment and the genuine care she has for the families she supports.  Did I mention she was 37 weeks pregnant herself?! - Dayna B

I was really nervous when I started my doula search because I’d heard doulas didn’t like going to hospital births and I planned to give birth in a hospital.  Steph put any concerns out of my mind right away.  I’ll never forget, she told me that this isn’t her birth, it’s mine and the most important thing to my birth is that I give birth in the place where I feel safest.  Her words helped me feel so confident and I thought about them often.  I instantly felt at ease with her and I knew I’d found my doula!  During my birth, she did things to try and make the hospital room feel like home.  She kept me comfortable during my whole labour.  My husband loved that it took so much pressure off him and he could really enjoy the process instead of racking his brain to remember what he should/shouldn’t be doing.  If we have another baby, Steph will be one of the first people we call! - Katie B

I absolutely thank Steph for her MAJOR role in my beautiful home birth!  The tips and tricks we talked about helped me feel confident. I ended up having a home birth not because it was an emergency situation but because I felt safe, educated and empowered. I would absolutely recommend using Steph as your doula. -Amy P

I really liked that Steph was a mom and, as someone who had experienced giving birth herself, meant that she could really relate to what I was going through.  I’d heard some scary stories about birth from my friends but Steph only had positive things to say about her own birth experiences and that really helped me get my head in a positive headspace.  During my birth, Steph never left my side.  I had no idea how much comfort I would draw from that!  Intuitively, she always seemed to be one step ahead to know what I might need.  Having a positive birth experience was something that was really important to me and I’m so happy we hired Steph.  We still keep in touch months later! -Carly G

Steph was my go-to source of information during my pregnancy, for birth and once my baby came.  I was a first-time Mom and had a lot of questions!!  She had an answer for everything!  Steph has three kids and has a ton of information to share both from her doula training and just from her experience in being a mom.  She was full of suggestions of things I should do to get myself and my body ready for birth and, when my birth didn’t go exactly as planned, she was ready with things that I could do to help my recovery.  I’ve shared it all with her and never felt like I couldn’t be honest about how I was feeling.  She was always there to listen, give ideas, or just to agree with me when I had to vent to someone about how hard being a mom could be.  Steph is a great person to have in your corner. -Sarah B

COVID Anon

When Covid happened and our in person prenatal class was cancelled, we took Steph’s Birth and Baby Prep Session to help us feel more prepared for the upcoming birth of our baby as well as what to do after he arrived!  The convenience of the session being virtual was great and we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything by doing it done this way rather than in person.  We were really surprised with the amount of information shared.  She covered birth in detail and spent a lot of time going through what we might expect from postpartum and how to take care of a baby!  The most amazing part was, even though we’d only done her prep session, she still told us to keep her number handy and to send questions her way as/if they came up once our baby was here.  Just knowing I had her as a direct resource made me feel so much better.  We highly recommend Steph’s baby prep session!

From our first meeting with Steph, she felt like a friend who I’d known for years.  As a first time mom, I was full of questions about whether something was normal or what I should expect from certain situations.  She never made me feel like it wasn’t a question worth asking and always encouraged me to ‘ask away.’  I went into birth feeling really prepared and a lot of that was due all the information Steph covered in our prenatal sessions (there’s a lot, it’s like a mini prenatal class).  My birth experience was everything I hoped for and a huge part of that is because of Steph. - Claire S.
