I was really nervous when I started my doula search because I’d heard doulas didn’t like going to hospital births and I planned to give birth in a hospital.  Steph put any concerns out of my mind right away.  I’ll never forget, she told me that this isn’t her birth, it’s mine and the most important thing to my birth is that I give birth in the place where I feel safest.  Her words helped me feel so confident and I thought about them often.  I instantly felt at ease with her and I knew I’d found my doula!  During my birth, she did things to try and make the hospital room feel like home.  She kept me comfortable during my whole labour.  My husband loved that it took so much pressure off him and he could really enjoy the process instead of racking his brain to remember what he should/shouldn’t be doing.  If we have another baby, Steph will be one of the first people we call!
