In 2015 and 2017, I birthed my second and third babies in our master bathroom shower (here are Lily and I in the very spot she was born! Her little brother, Madden, would be born in the same spot a year later but #thirdbaby means no photo). If you look closely, you’ll see that the tile in the shower is a hexagon pattern... like the honeycomb found in a hive. Since my home births were two of the very best experiences in my life something “hive” related felt like the perfect fit!

However or wherever you birth, my goal is that you leave your birth feeling similar to how I did following my home births: strong, empowered, confident, satisfied, proud. I don’t believe there’s any better way for a woman to start her journey in motherhood than coming from an experience that has given her the truest insight to the depths of her strength, perseverance, selflessness, and determination.
